It would seem that in the current economic climate one can dare to dream that a solution to both the economic and energy crises is not beyond reach if effective and speedy implementation of Barak Obama?s economic stimulus bill is realised. The president has committed billions of dollars in favour of developing a green infrastructure with the promise of energy tax rebates and grants promoting the transfer to, and day to day progressive use of, green technology.
President Obama supports Green Energy
The bill will incorporate attractive incentives advocating positive steps to weathering the current economic storm, while promoting energy tax rebates that will actively set in motion a revised mindset concerning the way Americans approach their responsibility to the environment. By focusing on these incentives purely from the standpoint of intent, most importantly as it pertains to energy, it would seem that not before time a plan towards positive change is being considered. Not simply a policy of reaction but rather a realistic advance towards effecting long term change in the static procrastinate attitudes that have been as crippling to the pursuit of clean, affordable, reusable energy sources as to a good few other social aspects not least of all the economy.
Not only do the incentives promote positive ramifications in terms of rewarding individual efforts, but also serve to empower The US in becoming a leading global example in light of what in recent years has proved a negative demonstration of lethargic environmental consideration. The President is attempting to take back the initiative in the face of many European and Asian countries, who have become forerunners in the advancement of green technology invented by The US. America?s failure to command the utilisation of this technology has in recent years highlighted itself as being an industrial global authority in little more than fast food and carbon footprints.
Nobody can deny that even in the light of these incentives the race is on to manage negative effects caused by a previously cavalier and short-sighted approach to energy production. But the war against the wages paid by past sins can be won. By means of grants supporting affordable change in practical technology, such as heating pumps, the home is the first step for anyone looking to aid the environment, and their pockets, by incorporating affordable Solar and Geo-thermal products not to mention noise friendly hydronic systems readily available in Montana and Idaho.
While implementation of the incentives are already reporting positive headlines, with savings of up to 25 per cent on energy bills in some instances, the package doesn?t only serve to reward Joe Public for simply appearing to realise his responsibility to the environment by switching to cleaner reusable energy sources, but rather encourages a long term investment in the development of improved planet friendly technology.
For too long this has been a path not realised and in order to ensure the continuing vision and foresight everybody needs to get on board and ensure that this is not a one stop train. Much positive action is needed if other such bills and incentives are to be a recurring consideration going forward.
